Adam and I went to sleep at about 8:45pm on Friday night before the Triathlon. I cooked dinner, while he ran a few errands to get some last minute things for the following day.

On Saturday, the 27th, we woke up at 4:45, and rolled out of bed at 5, and planned to have my bike packed up and on the road to Adam's parents' house by 5:15. Of course, when I'm rushed or feel rushed, I forget everything. We got in the car and started heading to Adam's parents....when I realized I had forgotten my camera and Adam had forgotten a bottle of water. I ran back in, grabbed the camera and water and we were on our way. Once we got on the freeway, I realized that I didn't have my wetsuit....when we got to Adam's parents' house, I realized I had forgotten my running shoes. We had to go back to get both....but still managed to make good time.

We arrived pretty early to Woodward Reservoir, and placed our bikes on the rack before anything else. SInce I had done the Triathlon there in August, I knew the drill. In August, we got there, registered, hung out, and when I went to put my bike on the rack, there was very little room. This time, there was plenty of room. My bike was one of the smaller, if not the smallest road bike there, but it still was very cute. We got all set up....I wore my very special pink jersey with "CRAME" written on the back, with some rhinestones to accent. I'll post photos tonight when I get home. I had also gotten a sweet deal on shorts at REI the night before. I actually bought two pairs...one pair didn't look like tri shorts, and I wanted to make sure that they would dry and the other were MEN'S tri shorts. They were out of plain black ones for women. They worked. I ended up wearing the first pair and LOVING them. I actually tried to go back to get another pair but they only had one left, and they were way too big. I convinced some other woman at the store to get them. They're so comfy!

Anyway, the race was great. I wore a wetsuit this time, and it was AMAZING! I wasn't quite as tired in the swim, and in turn, I didn't swallow as much water. Adam's mom and friend Ronnie came out to watch. There were tons of people there, cheering others on, racing, eating, etc. There were quite a few newbies there, so I didn't feel out of place. Everyone kept yelling "GO CRAME!!!!!!" since it was written on the back. I felt like they were cheering on Amy to good health. I was so excited. I told several people about the trainathon and what I was doing. Hopefully we'll get more funds for Amy.

I mentioned that the race was great, but I failed to mention the oh-so-difficult rolling hills we had to bike in. It was super hard, and I'm glad my bike is pretty good. I practiced shifting gears and things, so in the end, it ended up not being quite as hard.

After the race, I went home and slept all afternoon. I didn't feel so well. Probably because I didn't drink any or very much water during the race. Actually, I opened Adam's bottle during the transition to the run because mine was too difficult to get to. Oops.

So here are the numbers for the triathlon:
700 KM swim
16 mile Bike
5K (3.1 miles) run

I"ll post photos tonight. Yay! September 28 was a day of rest. September 29, I biked ran 5 miles and biked 6.

Thanks for all of your support. Let's all remember to say extra extra prayers for Amy.

Bike!

Here's a photo of my bike that I've been using to train. It turns out that the tech at REI couldn't find anything with the tube that I had, so he replaced it free of charge! I was super excited.

Tonight, I ran 3 miles around Victory Park. It seemed to have been really busy, but I love the camaraderie.
